Quotes and tips on anger management

By  bowing our head to ground and paying obeisances to others we can reduce our ego and there by overcome negative emotions.  Don't do it blindly.  While bowing down just think "please forgive me if I have done anything wrong; knowingly or unknowingly". This can reduce our negative emotions such as anger, jealousy etc.

Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.  ----------- Buddha

Attain the stage of Narayana Smrithi.  ie stage of constant rememberance of Lord Narayana.  It has to be developed through practice.  It means to lead a simple life according to Narayana's insturctions as it is given in the Vedic literature.  One should have no interest other than the interest of the Lord.    Believe that the Lord will protect me always which is otherwise called as 'Saranagathi.  To depend on the Lord exclusively.  I will depend on the Lord for my knowledge for my food etc.  He is our father.  We must not be hopeless.  We must always be hopeful of the mercy of the Lord.  Practicing in this way, we can develop positive and soft qualities.

We must lead our life according to the desire of Krishna.  Each day we must do our duties according to Krishan's interest. Kunti devi prayed to Krishna "oh Krishna, you are so powerful, please cut the strings of attractions which I have towards material desires.  The first of which is the attraction towards my family"

When a man is perplexed or confused, he cannot find the solution by himself.  Agitating the mind or intelligence and finding a solution will not be helpful.  We will have to find an answer from outside.  Arjuna faced this and he asked Krishna.  Brahma faced this also.  So, whenever we are confused in our life we have to take guidance from a higher authority, who is capable of doing this.

 Bhagawad Gita verse 2.7
Karpanya dosopahata svabhavah
prcchami tvam dharma sammudha cetah
yac chreyah syan niscitam bruhi tan me
sisyas te ham sadhi mam tvam prapannam

Here we can see that when Arjuna got confused he surrendered before Lord Krishna and accepted Lord as his Guru.  In material world, we seek guidance from doctors, teachers, lawyers, pharmacist etc in every walk of our life.  Similarly, to overcome our negative emotions and developing a strong personality we have to seek the help of those who have accomplished such qualities in their life.

Within each one of us - there is a lotus and a cactus.  When ever we do or think something bad about others, it is food for the cactus.  We develop skin diseases because we think bad about others and do harm to others.  When we cry for relief of pain we will not be helped but when we repent for each of the act done by us then our sufferings will reduce.
